Way back in August of last year, Jordan Brand gave us a first look at the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Homage To Home. Initially believed to be a sample, it’s now being rumored that Jordan Brand will be releasing the shoe on May 19th.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Homage To Home combines two of the most iconic colorways of the Air Jordan 1: Chicago and Banned/Bred. The design of the shoe splits the classic color schemes right down the middle with the Chicago theme placed on the medial side and the Banned theme noted on the lateral side. A split-colored Nike Air is placed on the tongue, while a White midsole and Red outsole complete the look of the shoe.
This Chicago-exclusive Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Homage To Home is set to release on April 21st. This version features the Air Jordan 1 Banned colorway on the lateral side, and the Air Jordan 1 Chicago edition on its medial side to makeup its design. This version is extremely limited to only 2,300 pairs, and each pair is individually numbered. Other key markings include the words “From” and “For” on the heels, and Nike Air branded tongues and insoles.
Update (4/20/2018): Why was the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Homage To Home designed the way it was? Why did Jordan Brand choose those two colorways for the design? All that can be answered by clicking/tapping here.
Update: (4/5/2018): Two versions of the shoe are expected to release. The first pair of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Homage To Home is scheduled to release on April 21. This particular release will be limited to 2,300 pairs and will come with details such as being numbered #/2,300 (on the inside of the shoe) and with “FROM” and FOR” text on the heel of the shoe (see image above).
The second release will drop on May 19th. This pair will be a much more wider release, it will not be numbered and will not come with the “FROM” and FOR” text on the heel.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Homage To Home will be retailing for $160, not the $190 that was initially announced.
